Small Bruise Like Spots

This is because they are the color of the blood that has pooled underneath the skin . As a bruise heals, the body breaks down blood and fluids that have accumulated under the skin. As this happens the bruise turns different colors. Within the first few days after getting a bruise, the area may become a black mark, blue mark, or purple mark.

There is no special medical treatment for skin bruises. Conservative treatment methods, such as ice packs, heat application, elevation of the affected area and over-the-counter medications are done for relieving the skin bruises.

Skin Bruise. A bruise on the skin is condition often caused by trauma caused by a blunt force which was not enough to break the skin but damages the tissues and blood vessels underneath. In this condition, blood leaks out into the damaged surrounding tissues as the blood vessels break.

Red spots on the skin are a common medical complaint. When the spots occur in outbreaks, they are sometimes termed rashes. Rashes can occur due to infections of the skin, disseminated infections (that have spread throughout the body), allergic reactions, or irritations of the skin. When a red bump or rash is flat, it is medically known as a macule.

A bruise is caused by the leakage of blood out of the blood vessels and is trapped under the skin. The different colors of bruises have to do with the change in the blood as it’s broken down and re-absorbed by the body. Intially, bruises appear as reddish. It will then turn blue or dark purple within a few hours, then yellow or green as it heals.

This color change of the bruise is due to low supply of oxygen to the affected area. This causes the hemoglobin, which is usually red in color to change to blue. It may take around three to four days for the color of the bruise to change from red to completely blue.

Bruises without injuries can be caused by thinning of the skin which could be caused by a number of factors. Some medication when taken for too long could lead to bruising without injuries. Aspirin is one such drug. It leads to coagulation changes which then lead to spontaneous hematoma.

Most bruises are caused by some form of blunt force trauma to blood vessels under the skin. When these blood vessels break open, blood begins to pour into the surrounding tissue. This blood pools under the skin and initially looks dark purple or deep red.

There are simple ways on how to treat bruises. These help to get rid of the bruises within a short time and using a few first aid steps. Ice: When ice is applied on the skin, it causes a constriction of the blood vessels. As a result, the blood that seeps through the skin to cause discoloration on bruises is prevented from seeping.

The best treatments include rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE). People with this type of injury should rest and apply an ice pack to the affected area in order to help keep the bruise from spreading and keep swelling down.

A person should seek medical attention any time they have the following symptoms or issues associated with bruising: a suspected broken bone. loss of function of a joint, limb or muscle. increasing pain. an area is affected by a bruise that returns. there is no identifiable cause of the bruising.

These injuries can cause blood vessels near the surface of the skin to rupture. The blood from the vessels leaks into the tissues under the skin and gets trapped there, forming a bruise. It’s also normal to experience more bruising as you get older.

The cushioning effect of the skin decreases as the fat under the skin decreases. These changes, along with skin damage from exposure to the sun, cause blood vessels to break easily. When blood vessels break, bruising occurs.

Over time, a bruise changes color as the blood under the skin breaks down, and as the bruise heals. Bruising typically occurs when a person receives an injury to an area of their skin, such as from falling or bumping into something. The blood vessels between the skin and other tissues in the body burst.

Examples of trauma are a cut or a blow to an area of the body. The injury causes tiny blood vessels called capillaries to burst. Blood gets trapped below the skin’s surface, which causes a bruise. Bruises can occur at any age.

Erythema is the medical term for redness of the skin. Red spots on the skin that occur singly can be a small benign tumor of blood vessels, known as a hemangioma. Tiny, pinpoint hemorrhages can be seen in the skin and are referred to as petechiae.

Petechiae are dark red dots like appearance all over the skin. The patches look like dots of blood clot. Though they are like rashes, they rarely itch.

Certain illnesses, including kidney disease, hyperthyroidism, and liver disease, may cause itching without rash as well. Certain kinds of cancer, such as lymphoma, may also result in itching skin with no rash.
